Split Bill - Complete Guide

Split the bill effortlessly when dining with friends, family, or colleagues. Fleksa QR supports three flexible ways to divide your restaurant bill.

Split Bill is available for Dine-In orders only. This feature requires scanning the table QR code and is designed for group dining experiences.

Pay for Your Items

Perfect when everyone ordered their own dishes and wants to pay individually.

Open Split Bill

After ordering, tap Pay on the table screen, then select Split Bill.

Choose "Pay for Your Items"

Select the Pay for Your Items option from the split methods.

Select Your Items

You'll see all unpaid items on the bill. Tap to select the items you ordered.

  • Selected items are highlighted in black
  • Already-paid items show a green checkmark and are grayed out
  • Locked items (being paid by someone else) show a lock icon

Review Your Portion

The summary shows:

  • Total Amount: The full bill
  • Your Selection: What you're about to pay
  • Remaining: What's left for others

Add a Tip (Optional)

Choose a tip percentage or enter a custom amount. Your tip applies only to your portion.

Complete Payment

Select your payment method and complete the transaction. Your items are now marked as paid for others to see.

Pay for Your Items - Rules

Divide Equally

The simplest way to split - divide the total bill evenly among your group.

Open Split Bill

Tap Pay on the table screen, then select Split Bill.

Choose "Divide Equally"

Select the Divide Equally option.

Set Number of People

Use the + and - buttons to set how many people are splitting the bill (2-10 people).

The amount per person updates automatically.

Select How Many Shares You're Paying

Tap on the numbered boxes to select how many portions you're covering:

  • Paying for yourself? Select 1 share
  • Covering a friend too? Select 2 shares
  • Treating the whole group? Select all shares

Review and Add Tip

See your total based on selected shares. Add a tip if desired.

Complete Payment

Pay for your selected shares. The progress circle shows how much of the bill has been covered.

Divide Equally - Example

Pay Remaining

When you want to cover whatever balance is left on the bill.

Open Payment

After others have paid their portions, tap Pay or Pay Remaining.

Review Remaining Amount

The system automatically calculates what's left to pay based on all previous payments.

Add Tip and Pay

Add a tip on the remaining amount and complete the payment to settle the full bill.

Automatic Remaining Calculation: If you select items that exceed the remaining balance, the system automatically caps your payment to avoid overpaying.

Tips for Group Dining

Before You Order

  1. Scan the Same Table QR - Everyone must scan the same table's QR code
  2. Consider How You'll Split - Ordering separately makes "Pay for Your Items" easier

When Paying

  1. Communicate - Let others know when you're about to pay
  2. Check Progress - Look at the progress circle to see what's been paid
  3. Don't Refresh - Stay on the payment screen while completing payment

Payment Methods for Split Bill

Cash Payments: If paying cash, you'll need to pay the entire remaining bill at the counter. Partial cash payments are not supported.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change my selection after I've started?

Yes, you can deselect items before completing payment by tapping them again.

What if someone leaves without paying?

The remaining items stay unpaid. Others can pay for them using "Pay for Your Items" or "Pay Remaining."

Is there a limit to how many times we can split?

No limit! You can make multiple partial payments until the entire bill is settled.

Can we combine split methods?

Yes! Person A can "Pay for Their Items," Person B can "Divide Equally" for their portion, and Person C can "Pay Remaining."

What happens if I overpay?

The system prevents overpayment by capping your payment at the remaining balance.

Do tips get split too?

Each person adds their own tip to their portion. Tips are not automatically divided.
