Split Bill - Complete Guide

Split the bill effortlessly when dining with friends, family, or colleagues. Fleksa QR supports three flexible ways to divide your restaurant bill.

Split Bill is available for Dine-In orders only. This feature requires scanning the table QR code and is designed for group dining experiences.

Three Ways to Split

Method	Best For	How It Works
Pay for Your Items	Groups where each person ordered different items	Select exactly what you ordered and pay only for those items
Divide Equally	Groups sharing dishes or wanting simplicity	Split the total evenly among 2-10 people
Pay Remaining	When one person covers the rest	Pay whatever balance is left after others have paid

Pay for Your Items

Perfect when everyone ordered their own dishes and wants to pay individually.

Open Split Bill

After ordering, tap Pay on the table screen, then select Split Bill.

Choose "Pay for Your Items"

Select the Pay for Your Items option from the split methods.

Select Your Items

You'll see all unpaid items on the bill. Tap to select the items you ordered.

Selected items are highlighted in black
Already-paid items show a green checkmark and are grayed out
Locked items (being paid by someone else) show a lock icon

Review Your Portion

The summary shows:

Total Amount: The full bill
Your Selection: What you're about to pay
Remaining: What's left for others

Add a Tip (Optional)

Choose a tip percentage or enter a custom amount. Your tip applies only to your portion.

Complete Payment

Select your payment method and complete the transaction. Your items are now marked as paid for others to see.

Pay for Your Items - Rules

Rule	What It Means
Items Lock When Selected	When you select an item, it's temporarily locked so others can't select it simultaneously
Real-Time Updates	Others at the table instantly see which items you're paying for
No Double Payment	Once an item is paid, it cannot be selected again
Multiple Payments	You can make several partial payments until the bill is settled

Divide Equally

The simplest way to split - divide the total bill evenly among your group.

Open Split Bill

Tap Pay on the table screen, then select Split Bill.

Choose "Divide Equally"

Select the Divide Equally option.

Set Number of People

Use the + and - buttons to set how many people are splitting the bill (2-10 people).

The amount per person updates automatically.

Select How Many Shares You're Paying

Tap on the numbered boxes to select how many portions you're covering:

Paying for yourself? Select 1 share
Covering a friend too? Select 2 shares
Treating the whole group? Select all shares

Review and Add Tip

See your total based on selected shares. Add a tip if desired.

Complete Payment

Pay for your selected shares. The progress circle shows how much of the bill has been covered.

Divide Equally - Example

Scenario	Calculation
Bill: €60, 3 people	€20 per person
You pay for yourself + friend	2 × €20 = €40
Remaining for third person	€20

Pay Remaining

When you want to cover whatever balance is left on the bill.

Open Payment

After others have paid their portions, tap Pay or Pay Remaining.

Review Remaining Amount

The system automatically calculates what's left to pay based on all previous payments.

Add Tip and Pay

Add a tip on the remaining amount and complete the payment to settle the full bill.

Automatic Remaining Calculation: If you select items that exceed the remaining balance, the system automatically caps your payment to avoid overpaying.

When multiple people at the same table are using their phones simultaneously:

Green portion: Already paid by you or others
Orange portion: Currently being selected for payment
Gray portion: Remaining unpaid

Tips for Group Dining

Before You Order

Scan the Same Table QR - Everyone must scan the same table's QR code
Consider How You'll Split - Ordering separately makes "Pay for Your Items" easier

When Paying

Communicate - Let others know when you're about to pay
Check Progress - Look at the progress circle to see what's been paid
Don't Refresh - Stay on the payment screen while completing payment

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue	Solution
Item shows locked but nobody is paying	Wait 30 seconds - locks auto-release
Can't see recent payments	Pull down to refresh the table view
Wrong amount shown	Refresh or re-scan the QR code
Payment stuck	Don't retry immediately - wait and check order status

Payment Methods for Split Bill

All standard payment methods work with split bill:

Cash Payments: If paying cash, you'll need to pay the entire remaining bill at the counter. Partial cash payments are not supported.
