Create, manage, sell, and redeem gift cards. Track balances, expirations, and usage for customer loyalty and revenue.
Gift Cards
Gift Cards allow you to sell prepaid credit to customers. They can be used for future purchases (online or in-store), making them a great tool for gifting, loyalty, and cash flow.

Accessing Gift Cards
Step 1: In the sidebar, go to Marketing (or Marketing Tools / Gift Cards section).
Step 2: Select the Gift Cards tab or dedicated entry.
Creating and Selling Gift Cards
Manual Creation (for in-person or custom)
Step 1: Click Create Gift Card or Add New.
Step 2: Set details:
- Initial balance / value
- Expiration date (if any)
- Recipient info (optional)
- Custom message
Step 3: Save and print or deliver (physical or digital code).
Selling via Online / POS
Gift cards can often be sold as regular items if set up in your menu, or through dedicated flows.
Managing Existing Gift Cards
- View active, expired, redeemed cards.
- Check current balance for a card/code.
- Manually adjust balance (e.g. for refunds or corrections).
- Deactivate or reactivate cards.
Redemption
Customers can redeem by entering the code during checkout (online) or at POS.
- Partial redemptions are supported (remaining balance stays on the card).
- The system automatically applies available balance.
Reporting and Tracking
- See total issued value.
- Redeemed amount.
- Outstanding liability (unredeemed balances).
- Usage trends over time.
This data is useful for accounting (liability on balance sheet) and marketing (redemption rates).
Best Practices
- Set reasonable expiration (e.g. 1-2 years) to manage liability.
- Promote gift cards during holidays or as add-ons.
- Train staff on redemption process to avoid issues.
- Regularly export reports for finance.
