Station Routing

Route order items to the correct kitchen stations automatically.

What is Station Routing?

Station routing sends specific menu items to specific kitchen displays:

  • Burgers → Grill station
  • Salads → Cold prep station
  • Drinks → Bar station
  • Desserts → Pastry station

Setting Up Stations

1. Create Stations in Partner Portal

  1. Go to Partner Portal → Settings → Kitchen Stations
  2. Click Add Station
  3. Name the station (e.g., "Grill", "Cold Prep", "Bar")
  4. Save

2. Assign Items to Stations

  1. Go to Menu Management
  2. Edit a menu item
  3. Under Kitchen Station, select the station
  4. Save and repeat for all items

3. Configure KDS Devices

  1. On each kitchen display device, log in
  2. Go to Settings → Station
  3. Select the station this device handles
  4. Only items for that station will appear

How It Works

When an order is placed:

Order: 1x Burger, 1x Caesar Salad, 1x Beer

  ↓ Routing Engine ↓

Grill Station:     → 1x Burger
Cold Prep Station: → 1x Caesar Salad
Bar Station:       → 1x Beer

Each station sees only their items, but can optionally view the full order for context.

Multi-Station Orders

For orders with items across multiple stations:

  1. Each station sees their portion
  2. Each station marks their items ready
  3. Order is complete when ALL stations finish
  4. All stations see overall order progress

Station Display Options

Show Only My Items

See only items assigned to your station. Clean and focused.

Show Full Order (My Items Highlighted)

See the entire order with your items highlighted. Good for context.

Bump Behavior

Special Routing

Expeditor Station

A special station that sees ALL orders to coordinate:

  • Monitors overall flow
  • Identifies bottlenecks
  • Calls out ready orders

No Station Assigned

Items without a station assignment:

  • Appear on ALL kitchen displays
  • Or appear on a default "General" station
